I became a Narrative Designer because I believe it’s the ultimate form of storytelling. I’m passionate about crafting compelling, unique, and player-centered stories. To build such skills, I trained in the Writing for Film, Television, and Games program at the Vancouver Film School and later completed Udemy’s Unreal Engine 5 C++ Developer: Learn C++ & Make Video Games course.
As for hands-on industry experience, I worked as a freelance QA Tester for Mácula Interactive on the award-winning game Mexico 1921: A Deep Slumber, and as a Localization Tester for Mexican Spanish at EA on titles such as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, FIFA 23, and mobile games like The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-Earth.
But I’d rather have my work speak for me:
This is a Clue finding/life simulator Game set in Mexico amidst a zombie apocalypse. The player will choose to play either as an up-and-coming journalist, or an ambitious mayor running for governor, in a race to uncover the truth, navigating a system that rewards corruption and punishes idealists. Mechanics for Journalist include research, interviewing, and setting the tone of the story (clickbait or serious). For the Mayor, player will administrate how the information is given to the public, and how to approach the matter (sketchy, serious, or just patch it with PR).
A 3-minute sci-fi romance Cinematic. Tells the story of María and Alfredo, rebels on an alien-conquered Earth. In the face of the most certain Doomsday, they grapple with the possibility of love in the face of the apocalypse. This cinematic, recorded with Motion Capture in collaboration with Beyond Studios and VFS, explores the complexities of human connection in a dystopian setting.
This was a little plataformer project I made at the Writing for Games program at VFS, where I learned foundational skills in modeling, Blueprint scripting, and environmental storytelling, based on Unreal Engine 5. This game serves as a preview of my final project for the Engine class, showcasing where my skills were at the moment (new samples are on the way!).
Amanda Rosales always dreamed of being a star, but those dreams were shattered when she was forced to take sole care of her brother at a young age. To survive, she put her loud, goofy personality, sharp tongue, and even sharper wit to good use in the criminal underworld. This earned her the name “Big Mouth” — a reputation that opened doors but also landed her in hot water with dangerous people. Now, her past is catching up with her. She's got a massive debt to pay, and the consequences of failure are dire. If she wants to protect her brother, she has one shot: win the Games. It's what she always dreamed of, but now it's her only way out. She'll have to talk her way into – and out of – trouble, just like she always has. Her silver tongue is her greatest weapon, and it might just be the key to their survival.
